This database provides articles from the peer reviewed scientific literature. These articles are gathered on a semi-annual basis by the World Health Organization; ICEC then compiles them to this database, searchable by author name, journal, keyword, and date. (PLEASE NOTE: As of 2009, this database is no longer being updated. Please use Pub Med for your research needs. We recommend using a variety of search terms, including emergency contraception, emergency contraceptive pills, and for older articles, post-coital contraception)





EC Status and Availability

Dedicated emergency contraceptive pills (ECPs) are now available in most countries of the world. This database lists the brand names of registered dedicated ECPs (packaged and labeled specifically for EC use), and can be searched by country, manufacturer, and pill brand name.

ICEC member agencies, other agencies, and ICEC itself have created numerous materials related to EC introduction.
